Fall Recital Line Up
Hello and happy fall! This is my favorite time of year because there are so many things to be excited about! Although, cooler weather wasn’t on the list after the summer that we had, I still love the colors and smells of this season. Pumpkins and pumpkin spice lattes…well pumpkin spice just about anything! Decorating for the season and spooking up my abode are also top on my list.
Then, planning for recitals. Due to the new addition of a Steinway piano, many of the students and I are playing duets together. A few bold students are even delving into the realm of 2 piano playing with me. These are challenging songs, to put it mildly. Though the titles sound playful, both selections are from a set of music written for characters from Alice in Wonderland, the pieces are full of dissonant chords and atonal progressions. Sometimes we aren’t sure if we’re even getting it right! but it is an adventure. And one that is as fun to play as it will be for you to hear.
Recitals begin on Sunday the 26th with a Halloween group. The following weekend we have recitals on the 1st and 2nd, then last, we finish up with another small group at my house on Nov. 9th. Check your email for the day, time and location of your recital.
So much prep work and practice goes into these little events, it makes me proud to hear all of their accomplishments. Thanks to all the parents behind the students for your support and kindness.
Remember a little bit goes a long way!
